Directions)*

*When*: Tuesday, September 18, 2012

*6:00pm - 7:00pm:*Networking and Refreshments

*7:00pm - 8:30pm: *Panel Discussion and Q&A

In the 1964 Mary Poppins classic, the Banks children refuse to clean up the
nursey, so what does Mary Poppins do? She turns the chore into a game, of
course!

Humans are wired to play games that are fun and engaging. Games provide
motiviation, ability, and trigger and feed our basic drive for
self-accomplishments according to the Fogg Behavior Model.

Mobile, social, and simple online games entice hundreds of millions of
people into the gaming world. Will the next wave of games incentivize us to
accomplish goals outside of the fun of playing the game? Will gamification
revolutionize customer engagement, alter the way we measure and motivate
employees, or change the way we improve our health and educate our children?

Join us next Tuesday evening as thought leaders from
Bunchball<http://bunchball.com>,
Kiip <http://kiip.me/> and Microsoft <http://microsoft.com> discuss
opportunities and challenges with gamification. More specifically, we'll
explore how companies and organizations are leveraging the mechanics of
game design to engage users and influence behavior. Some of the topics we
hope to address are how gamification will revolutionize customer engagement
and alter the way we measure and motivate people as well as discuss some
viable monetiziation models for gamifciation as well as opporutnities for
social benefit. We'll wrap up the discussion by identifying 3-5 hot areas
in the gamification space and also understand "What's Next?" in this sector
of technology.

A limited number of complimentary tickets are available to students.
