[liberationtech] About syria and western intervention

You know what?  I hear both, and I'm also in touch with Syrians on the
ground in Syria.  There's a strong divide on the ground, and while I have
yet to meet someone who genuinely loves Assad (despite what all the posters
and billboards around the country would lead one to believe), I know
Syrians (inside and outside the country) who want some sort of intervention
and those who believe it will simply make things worse.

I don't think you can deduce any sort of consensus here.  Sure, there are
questionable actors involved (does anyone really think Qatar or KSA have
the best interests of Syrians at heart?) but the other truth is that
Syrians are being killed by their own government.  Period.
