[liberationtech] Radio Talk Show on sexual harassment and Eve Teasing in Bangladesh on Radio Foorti

To celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against
Women 2010, Relief International, a US-based international non government
organization, in collaboration with We Can End Violence Against Women
Movement in Bangladesh and Radio Foorti is hosting a radio talk show on
Sexual Harassment and Eve Teasing at 11 am on 25 November 2010. The show
will be aired through more than 20 districts across Bangladesh.  Ms. Tahmina
Huq, Deputy Programme Manager ,Women's Rights and Gender Equality Sector of
Action Aid Bangladesh and Saikh Imtiaz, Associate Professor,  Department of
Gender and Women Studies of the University of Dhaka will be the Guest
speakers at the event. The sessions will be moderated by Jinat Ara Haque,
National Coordinator, WE CAN SECRETARIAT ,  WE CAN Alliance to End Domestic
Violence in Bangladesh.


The radio talk show is part of a two year long programme titled
“Transparency for Human Rights in Bangladesh” funded by the European
Commission and implemented in Bangladesh by Relief International. The
project intends to utilize media and Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) to advocate for human rights in 20 districts of Bangladesh.
 The programme makes use of innovative approaches such as Radio Talk Shows,
online website, SMS notifications and the other ICT to generate awareness
about human rights issues in Bangladesh.
