*** 7amleh has just launched the campaign #PayPal4Palestine ***

It is time to hold PayPal accountable for its discriminatory policy in the
occupied Palestinian territory (OPT). Over 5 million Palestinians cannot
use PayPal while Israelis in illegal settlements a few miles away enjoy
full access!

PayPal, the world’s most recognized digital payment service, refuses to
provide its services to Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza
Strip. Meanwhile, it grants Israelis, including settlers residing in
illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank, full access to its platform.

PayPal does not provide services in the oPt based on its “Prohibited
Countries'' policy, under which Palestine and certain countries are
classified as “high-risk” where PayPal claims it is unable to operate
therein.

PEN has just released an online resource based on their Online Harassment
Field manual, adapted for Latin America. They worked with digital experts
and journalists based in Mexico to produce the resource. it provides
activists, journalists, writers and marginalized groups targeted by online
abuse with tips, tools, and strategies to tackle this issue.

*** Facebook whistleblower’s testimony could finally spark action in
Congress ***

The testimony of Frances Haugen, a former Facebook employee, is likely to
increase pressure on US lawmakers to undertake concrete legislative actions
against the formerly untouchable tech company, following years of hearings
and circular discussions about big tech’s growing power.

John Tye, a former U.S. government whistleblower and  founder of
Whistleblower Aid, is representing Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen.
He joined Washington Post technology policy reporter Cat Zakrzewski to
discuss the tens of thousands of pages of internal documents that Haugen
claims show the company “chooses profits over safety.”

part by insider machinations linked to a former top employee of the
