### News and Updates ###

*** EFAIL - vulnerabilities identified in PGP that can leak plaintext of
encrypted emails ***

A group of European security researchers released a paper that describes
a new class of serious vulnerabilities in PGP (including GPG), the most
popular email encryption standard. An attacker to use the victim’s own
email client to decrypt previously acquired messages and return the
decrypted content to the attacker without alerting the victim. EFF is
advising PGP users to uninstall or disable your PGP email plug-in and
use alternative modes of secure end-to-end communication for now.

*** Imagining Futures Survey ***

Can futurism be a way to build community and power in the digital age
for countries of the Global South? Our friends @dalitdiva, @EqualityLabs
& @UChicagoCi3 have launched a survey and they are asking for 15 minutes
of your time to consider alternative futures. This survey is meant to
harness our greatest weapons against this pessimism: our imagination.
The results will be part of a traveling art exhibition on liberatory
futures!
