Dear IFF Community,

This past Wednesday on July 5, 8 participants and 2 facilitators were
detained during a digital security training in Turkey. Among the people
detained include Idel Eser, director of Amnesty International Turkey.
What makes this particularly worrisome is that Turkey is currently under
a state of emergency that gives authorities extraordinary powers to
detain suspects without access to a lawyer for extended periods.

Please support the detainees by doing the following:

* Tweet the following on your social media.
"We demand the release of Amnesty Turkey Director & her colleagues now
from incommunicado detention! #TurkeyRelease #G20

* Follow Amnesty Interational and Article19 and support them on social
media.

We know this situation impacts many of you personally. This is the time
to reach out to those connections and people that lift you up. This is
the time to rely on the solidarity and love you all have cultivated so
dearly with each other. You are not alone. You have all of us behind you.

Lastly, a few of us are working on crafting more social media efforts to
help the situation. If you would like to participate, email us directly.

So much love and peace your way.

The IFF Team
