[liberationtech] U.S. In Talks To Use Location Data To Aid In ~WAR~ Against A Microbe

The U.S. appears to have hardly been able to adequately test its general or
hospitalized population for COVID-19 and WaPo is now reporting on proposals
to digitally monitor infected folks?
Sounds like a "cart before horse" problem.
Are disaster venture capitalists (Amazon-WaPo included?) now becoming prone
to thinking too much about their own bank accounts whilst in 'home stay
self-isolation'?
Perhaps they ought to instead focus hearts and minds on developing *digital
and/or scientific tools 'for the people' starting with testing and medical
equipment *(e.g. ventilators).
Best Regards,
~david
