Digital security tools can now apply to receive a free usability audit
from the Open Tech Fund’s Usability Lab. Audits will analyze and
identify any pitfalls that make it difficult for an average user to
successfully use a tool. This is a great opportunity for FLOSS tools
that may not have the in-house resources, knowledge or infrastructure
to effectively improve the usability of their tool.
*** Apply to the Usability Audit here:
https://www.opentech.fund/lab/usability-lab ***
Tools that are interested in applying should be FLOSS, have the time
and availability to work with service providers, and must count among
their users activists, journalists, and/or citizens in repressive
environments that are under surveillance or censorship.
The audit will be conducted by OTF Usability Lab service provider
Simply Secure and will examine various items ranging from user
experience, to a tool's look and feel, to missed opportunities for
tool developers and users to engage each other.
In addition, if you are an organization and/or individual that would
like to be a usability auditor for the OTF Usability Lab, we encourage
you to reach to Lindsay Beck at lindsay at opentechfund.org.
We looking forward to seeing your application. If you have any
questions or comments please do not hesitate to email
lindsay at opentechfund.org.
Cheers!
The OTF Team
