Interested in installing solar panels on local schools, nonprofits and
low-usage households?

*Become a SunWork Volunteer!*

*Engineers for a Sustainable World* is collaborating with the local
non-profit *SunWork* to give students the opportunity to gain *hands-on
experience* in solar installations while *helping out local low-energy
households and non-profits* in becoming more sustainable.

Attend our volunteer training session on the
*14th of February,** 8.20 am - 12.40 pm!*
No prior experience is needed! Students of all backgrounds are welcome!

Join us for the 3-hour training session to learn about:
- Electrical theory
- Solar power basics
- Construction safety best practices

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in *sustainability,
renewable energy or engineering* to gain some *practical skills and
hands-on experience* while *having fun *with fellow students and helping
the Bay Area become more *sustainable*!


We will be meeting *in front of the bookstore at 8.20 am*, from where we
will bike to the training site at the Peninsula Conservation Centre in Palo
Alto.

Once you have completed the training session, we will be in touch with you
for upcoming weekend opportunities to help with nearby solar installations!

Note that the training is necessary for you to participate in the actual
installation events. Trainings are offered every 3 months and are valid for
one year.


*About SunWork*
SunWork is a local non-profit helping to expand rooftop solar power in the
Bay Area. Their professionals train volunteers who then help install
rooftop photovoltaic
systems  for homeowners with low electricity bills and for nonprofits (such
as schools), thus cutting costs by up to 30% compared to for-profit solar
installers. SunWorks has done more than 150 solar installations and trained
more than 230 volunteers.
