Faculty Position in International Development, Science and Technology
  
The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech, located in Atlanta, GA, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in international development at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin Fall 2015. Applicants should have research interests and will be expected to teach in science & technology as they relate to international development or to issues of sustainability broadly defined (e.g. the environment, energy, natural resources, “smart” systems, public health). Candidates should be fluent in the theories and practice of global political and economic development. Applicants with interdisciplinary backgrounds that include expertise in a specific scientific or technological domain are encouraged to apply. All applicants should show promise or evidence of outstanding scholarly achievement. The ideal candidate would have a comparative perspective, foreign language skills, and field experience in the global south such as conducting project assessments. Applicants should be able to demonstrate success in securing grants, fellowships, or other types of external research funding. Candidates should have an interest in mentoring and training graduate students and helping to build our graduate students’ research capacity, policy experience, and development project skills. For entrepreneurial faculty, opportunities also exist for leading or participating in study abroad programs, policy initiatives, and development projects.
 
The Sam Nunn School is multidisciplinary with undergraduate, graduate, and overseas programs, including joint undergraduate degrees with Modern Languages and Economics. The School’s programs focus on understanding the global context of advances in science and technology. The School has 21 faculty members; more than 300 undergraduate majors, 50 Master’s and 10 Ph.D. degree students.
