I doubt there's an easy general answer to your question. It would depend
entirely on your threat model.
Just to correct an earlier mistake I made: it seems the EFI reset is
probably not remote. I couldn't find the process documented anywhere,
but some are suggesting that a special boot usb is generated which is
then used to reset the password.
