[liberationtech] Man-in-the-middle attack on GitHub in China

I'd say the majority of Chinese Internet users are aware that there is some
level of censorship online. Only a small minority are aware of the full
extent of censorship though (blocking of websites, search restrictions on
Chinese websites, removal of content on Chinese websites, monitoring of
private conversations, people getting arrested for online activity etc).

I also think the majority of Internet users are unaware that the Internet
is so much more censored in China than in most other countries.

This is just based on my personal experience though. If there are studies
out there with more reliable data, I'd be very interested.
