[liberationtech] seeking your help as an expert in Pew Internet research about the future of the internet

[This is a re-invitation to answer questions for research by the Pew Research Center Internet Project. If you have already completed the questionnaire, please accept our thanks and you can feel free to stop reading here!]

You are invited to participate in a special project to gather input on the challenges and opportunities for the future of the Internet. The study is being conducted by two non-profits: Pew Research Center's Internet Project and Elon University's Imagining the Internet Center. We are collecting experts' input on the most likely evolution of technology and people's uses of it by the year 2025.

Experts such as Semantic Web scientist James Hendler, Internet protocol co-inventor Vint Cerf, futurist David Brin, and technology observers Esther Dyson, danah boyd and Jeff Jarvis are among those who are already participating. If you have already responded, we appreciate your input, if you have not yet done so:

We hope you will take the time to share your insights now, so you do not forget, however, the site will be open until early January. You are allowed start and stop, thinking your answers through and participating over time. Please take a look through all eight prompts and at least provide your "Yes" or "No" input. Past participants have told us that this is a high-value exercise for them as individuals because taking the time to think things through has helped them see a clearer path to future action in their own realm.

By default, all of your responses are confidential. However, we provide respondents the opportunity to take credit for their remarks by simply typing their name at the beginning of each response. Taking credit lends credibility to the results and contributes to a more vibrant public conversation. Again, to have your remarks attributed to you, please type your name at the beginning of each open-ended response you provide. If your name does not appear at the beginning of a response, it will remain anonymous.
