We (the Guardian Project) are happily using SparkleShare. Credit to the
Commotion/OTI team for introducing us to it, and for Hans-Christoph on
our team for getting it running.
SparklShare is based on Git, has nice, stable apps for most desktops,
and works well over Tor (with the main repo running as a Tor hidden service)
Since it is Git-based, you can do neat things like replicate specific
fodlers/repos to public sites like Github. Here is a our "public" folder
from our SparkleShare, as it appears on Github:

We still have some internal culture and workflow issues to solve (i.e.
Dropbox is still ingrained in the brain), but technically and
product-wise it is all there.
