Hi,
Thanks. Yes i know the basics. I teach this to journalists. Have been since 2008. I worked with Reuters, Al Jazera etc. I'm talking on this this week at a Journalism Rewired conference in London. I have seen sniffs of meshnetworked apps managing to carry data out of areas where there is no gsm or wifi. that's why i ask.

Cheers,

Christian - check out http://mobilemediatoolkit.org. Can not comment on non-corporate control apps since I do not altogether get what exactly you are after but poke around :).

Copying my colleague Melissa as well who runs the Mobile Media Toolkit.

Subject: [liberationtech] Tools for journalists

I'm interested in knowing if there are any mobile tools used by journalists that aren't corporately owned and offer encrypted services?

I'm particularly interested in any mobile apps capable of using decentralised or distributed networks to enable the sharing and dissemination of multimedia.

Cheers.
