Dear all, discussing this topic,
Would it be possible to 'translate' what you're discussing into
an article or blogpost in wordings understandable for normal
computer users. It seems of great importance. After writing,
spreading the link via socmed and this mailing list
thnx

Michael,
Do you have permission to redistribute JVM packages? Otherwise,
it would seem to be a violation of copyright and sanctions (were
any operational elements in the US).
What troubles me is the manner this discussion was started.
Certainly, we should express deep skepticism toward any tool that
is released, but Yosem, your title was quite
curtly accusatory and without any support!

Hi Jillian,
Thanks for raising this point. Do you know whether US export
controls
prevent a third party in a third country from redistributing Java
(subject to copyright restrictions) to users in Syria?
Cheers,

I'd also remember that Syrians (and perhaps others) are barred by
US
export controls from downloading Java.
