Hello.. Yosem invited me to this list.. I was quiet and busy but
this thread looks like it was made for me to step in and speak.

So is Secure Share (secushare.org) - it's a social data interchange
platform written in C on top of GNUnet. Twitter/Facebook-like usage
is one possible use case, but you could also share files or live streams
over it as it is extremely optimized for compactness and minimal
processing. We target smartphones and desktops at the same time by
using a suitable cross-platform UI engine.

When thinking of the Internet of fundamental protocols like UDP, TCP
and SSL/TLS, secushare acts like a next logical step, a base protocol
that implements social modeling and end-to-end encryption for you, so
you only need to think about the data you're sending to another person,
not a host. Not worry about encryption and IP numbers.

The prototype is due to become available around March.

A lot of what's explained on that page pretty much applies to our tech
as well. Interesting how suddenly everyone sees a need for a solution
of this kind. When we started half a year ago everyone seemed to be so
happy with a federation solution where your private data is spread in
the clear over dozens of servers.

One difference..

Tahrir mentions rasing latency in order to address timing attacks,
we think we can do that too, but it's not as necessary if you apply
the social graph to your choice of nodes, so attacking nodes aren't
in business really.

But the big difference of course is that Tahrir is about status
updates while ours is a generic social transport.
