Dear friends,
This newsletter is a service for internet freedom defenders around the
world! Send us interesting updates, open positions, events, and
resources and we will share them in our next newsletter. Contact us at
team at internetfreedomfestival.org.
Here are our updates for the week of July 15-19:
*** Palantir’s Top-Secret User Manual ***
Through a recent public records request, Motherboard has obtained a
Palantir user manual for law enforcement, and it gives unprecedented
insight into how the company logs and tracks individuals through its
Gotham service. Notably, the guide illustrates the staggering
capabilities it has where, with almost no information about an
individual, a user can instantly find intimate details about a person.

*** OKThanks Looking for User Input ***
If you have 20 minutes to spare, OKThanks wants to hear from you! They
are conducting research on why people trust apps. Specifically, they are
looking for people in the Philippines, Indonesia, Iran, China,
Nicaragua & Ethiopia. If you are interested, please reach out to them at
tiffany at okthanks.com or via Signal @+12093965087
*** Digisec Toolkit Documentary Filmmakers Launched ***
Safe + Secure has been launched as a result of increased awareness about
the risks to which documentary filmmakers expose themselves - and their
crews, subjects and sources - in order to bring important stories to the
world.

*** Upcoming Glitter Meetup***
Eva Galperin from the EFF will be joining us this Thursday, July 18, @
9:00am EDT. She will be discussing stalkerware, how they impact victims,
