Here are our updates for the week of February 25 to March 1:

*** Meet the 2019 Internet Freedom Festival Hosts and Facilitators! ***

We are happy to announce the 2019 IFF hosts and facilitators, Sharmin
Hossain and Ali Gharvi! Both come with amazing track records in
community building, and creating positive environments based on respect
and dignity. Don’t miss out on the various events they will be
facilitating including Opening Ceremony, the IFF Orientation and
Networking event, and the Tool Showcase.

In addition, Sharmin will be leading a Liberation Training series
focused on topics such as power and oppression, healing, and theories of
change.

*** Meet the 2019 Wellness Team ***

The IFF Community Wellness Team is the newest addition to our tools in
creating safer spaces and bringing more attention to the psycho-social
needs of the Internet Freedom community. Composed of three
psychologists, the Community Wellness team will oversee the Code of
Conduct and associated protocols, and help the IFF create a more
positive culture that is focused on mutual respect and dignity.

*** Get an IFF Curated Experience ***

The best part of the IFF is the over 220 sessions, workshops and events
that cover multiple topics and themes. However, knowing how to navigate
these many options can be challenging, especially for new folks! Check
out the official IFF wiki for a more cultivated approach to the IFF,
showcasing not-to-be missed events, as well as important information.
Check it out regularly for updates!

***Why DNSSEC Should Matter to Activists***

More and more activists are victims of online attacks where DNS spoofing
is used. You don’t have to understand the intricate details of how
digital attacks occur or how the internet works, but as an activist you
should know what the Internet-of-the-future should look like so you can
advocate for it.

*** Signs up for the Localization Lab Summit ***

The Localization Lab summit will take place on Sunday, March 31 in
Valencia, a day before the IFF. The summit will identify challenges and
opportunities in adoption and localization of digital security and
circumvention tools. While the event is free, you must apply to attend!
