*** The IFF 2018 Dates Announced - Get your Glitter Ready!***


You’ve been waiting with bated breath–– and now it’s time to exhale. The
official dates for IFF 2018 are here! *Airhorn.*


>From March 5th to 9th, our community will be gathering at our Spanish
home away from home, Las Naves in Valencia. We’re so excited to see you,
give you a (consensual) hug, and cover you in glitter!


Registration info and open calls for proposals are coming soon. Keep

***Supreme Court Quashes Uhuru Kenyatta's Re-Election***

The Supreme Court has nullified the re-election of Kenya’s President,
Uhuru Kenyatta.

“A six-judge bench, by majority decision, on Friday indicted the
Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), saying it
conducted the elections contrary to the dictates of the Constitution and
poll laws.”

***Denmark and the failure of EU export controls***
In August, the Danish Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen confirmed that
Denmark granted licenses for the export of surveillance technology that
can be used against human rights defenders, activists, and journalists

***Cambodia Daily Newspaper To Close After 24 Years***
One of Cambodia's major English-language newspapers will close this week
because it is unable to pay what the government says it owes in back taxes.

What is your PGP?

PGP is not just related to encrypting email. It also stands for
preferred gender pronoun (pgp). When you meet someone it’s respectful to
ask them to share their pgp. This is because some people do not identify
with the gender given to them at birth and others may prefer
gender-neutral pronouns. If someone identifies with she/her/hers, when
you talk about them, you would say “Maria wanted coffee. Sheis at the
cafe.”
