### IFF 2018: Fellowship Launch ###
It’s been one short week since we launched the application process for
IFF’s 2018 Fellows, and the response has been tremendous! Many
professionals and leaders in Internet Freedom have answered the call to
help make guide the IFF’s content to make it relevant, immediate and
representative of the community and its challenges.
Become an IFF Fellow and help create and curate the programming that
inspires and empowers the voices of Internet Freedom throughout the world!

### News and Updates ###
*** GnuPG Launches Fundraising Campaign ***
The GnuPG Project launched their funding campaign last week. The
campaign aims to secure 15000 Euro per month in recurring donations from
individual donors to finance the development of their free software.
Activists, journalists, lawyers, and many others rely on GnuPG to
protect their communication and, more than two-thirds of the servers
running the Internet rely on GnuPG to verify the integrity of system
updates.

*** New Project to Track Imprisoned Iranian Bloggers ***
More than 360 bloggers in Iran have been prosecuted and imprisoned. At
least 2 have been killed and one is waiting for execution. IranSec
recently launched a website that tracks the plight of imprisoned Iranian
bloggers, accessible in Farsi and English.

“Sustain” will be a one day conversation for open source software
sustainers. There will be no keynotes, expo halls or talks. Only a
guided discussion and concrete ideas about getting and distributing

Open Source Bridge is an annual conference focused on building open
source community and citizenship through four days of technical talks,
hacking sessions, and collaboration opportunities. Participants include

* Privacy Enhancing Technologies Symposium (PETS) *

CopyCamp is the biggest conference about social and economic aspects of
copyright in Europe. It has been the place for a balanced, original, and
multi-sided debate, facilitating the exchange of ideas about exclusive
rights all over Europe and abroad. CopyCamp discusses the law, but it is
not a legal conference, reaching out to people active in culture,
education, science, government, and technology. This year we also wish
to invite those active in other areas, for example, health, food, or
security.
