Dear Friends,

Here's the IFF Weekly update for January 30 - February 3. If you have
something to feature in the next IFF Weekly, send it over as soon as
possible!

*###***News and Updates* **### *
*
***IFF 2017 Registration CLOSING: **Friday, February 3rd*
*This year for the /*first time*/ we will be closing IFF registrations
ahead of the festival to avoid exceeding capacity. If you have not yet
done so already,*p**lease register by this* *Friday, February 3rd* to
secure your spot at the IFF!

As of this week, we've gotten over *1,200 *registrations for the 2017
IFF - a new record by a longshot - which means that for the first time,
we are likely to max out the capacity of Las Naves, the festival venue
in Valencia.

*Announcing the New IFF Visual Identity & More for 2017*
*This year the IFF will be offering some *awesome new additions* to its
program and design - including *Help Desks*, more time for
*self-organized sessions*, a host of fantastic *side events*, and more.
However, we're also implementing the biggest image change for the
Internet Freedom Festival since its inception in 2015 - the launch of
our *brand new visual identity.**
*
To get the full update on what's new for the 2017 IFF, and for a preview
of the new logo and branding, we've published an article on Medium with
all the details:
https://medium.com/@pepeborras/internet-freedom-festival-reinvented-joining-forces-to-fight-censorship-and-surveillance-c3aa91435fe1#.x64euogmv

All these improvements and new additions are the product of the work of
many organizations and individuals around the world. Just 3 years later
since the first IFF, all of you have taken it to the next
level — adapted it, evolved, hacked it, and made it yours - *while
constantly inspiring us to find ways to improve.* Thank you everybody!

**Updated IFF Code of Conduct**
The Internet Freedom Festival is committed to providing a safe and
welcoming environment for participants of all backgrounds - in support
of this, reviewing and updating the standing IFF Code of Conduct (CoC)
was a core priority for 2017 - *we're excited to now share this updated
IFF Code of Conduct with the community:**

As an international, multidisciplinary gathering, we encourage all
attendees to approach the event with open and positive attitudes, and to
engage constructively with others at all times. We count on *everyone* -
from partner organizations to individuals - to do their part to ensure
positive experiences for all participants.
