Hi Sruthi,

Thanks for sharing your references for discourse analysis. Really interesting! How did this topic come up? I may have lost a piece at the last meeting.

Anyway, do you have the pdf by any chance? If so, would be wonderful to add it to our Zotero library.

I added there my list of references for discourse analysis. I don't use it so much lately, but I have referred to Wetherell, Edley and Potter, so I added some of their articles even though they are not topic-related (but they are wonderful examples of methodological paper on discourse analysis grounded on an empirical case). I also found Saldana's manual for qualitative coding very useful in the past.

Best,
G

Hi team,

My corpus, at least for now, comprises of policy documents.

And these are the references I am familiar with for qualitative analysis:

  *
Document Analysis as a Qualitative Research Method (Bowen, 2009)
  *
Analysing Discourse: Textual Analysis for Social Research (Fairclough, 2003)

Are there any more fundamental references you would recommend for document/discourse analysis?

Also, would you recommend any software packages for document analysis like NVivo and ATLAS.ti? So far, I have always read, coded and analysed my documents manually, without softwares or LLMs. But I would love learn and familiarise myself with useful tools.

Thank you!

Best regards,
Sruthi
