Thank you for your reply.

I would welcome the opportunity to join the DATAGOV project and work alongside the team in Amsterdam, and to develop the conversation further with Prof. Thomas. My research proposal aligns perfectly with your work on Brazil as a case study.

My planned period would run from July 1, 2027, to June 30, 2028.

The only thing my university requires is a short invitation letter, so that they can process my visit. The letter would simply need to include:
- Your name as the hosting professor
- Name of the hosting university/department
- Period of the visit (July 1, 2027 – June 30, 2028)
- Nature of the visit ("Postdoctoral Visiting Researcher")
- Title of the project ("Datafication and Platformization in the Global South: Towards the Decolonization of Media Theory").

Once I have your letter, everything else will be handled on my side. Should a brief Zoom call be useful, I am happy to arrange one.

Thanks for reaching out, and thanks Thomas for making the connection.
I run the project DATAGOV<https://datagovlab.net/>. Brazil is one of the case studies. If you come to Amsterdam, you can regularly meet the team. With respect to me, I am rather taken and may be away for a couple of months in the Spring, but well, I guess you don’t really need to hang out in the department.

I am writing to you following a conversation I just had with Professor Thomas Poell regarding my postdoctoral research project.

By way of introduction, I am an assistant professor at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), Brazil, with a PhD in Communication from the University of São Paulo (USP).

Thomas and I have been discussing a potential collaboration on my research about indigenous cosmotechnics and platformization, focusing on how the Krenak people in Brazil use digital platforms to resignify their modes of existence and resistance after a huge environmental disaster in their territory in 2015. While Thomas is interested in collaborating on this work, his current agenda for hosting new visiting scholars is full. Therefore, he suggested that I could reach out to you to see if you would be open to being my host at the University of Amsterdam.

Given your notable work on data activism and your engagement with Latin American contexts, this arrangement would allow me to contribute to your research environment while also maintaining the collaborative dialogue I have initiated with Thomas (who is in CC and kindly offered to discuss this further with you).

My plan is to stay at the UvA for one year starting in June 2027, with funding from my home university. To meet my internal bureaucratic deadlines, I would need to secure a host invitation letter until May 2026.
