On Tuesday 9 December, we will strike again and gather at 12:00 noon on Dam Square in Amsterdam. Our demand to reverse all the cuts<https://woinactie.blogspot.com/2025/12/-https://woinactie.blogspot.com/p/bezuinigingen-2025.html> made by the now outgoing Schoof cabinet has still not been met. In fact, despite D66's victory in the 29 October elections, the provisional “invitation<https://www.kabinetsformatie2025.nl/site/binaries/site-content/collections/documents/2025/12/02/tussenverslag/inhoudelijke-en-ambitieuze-agenda-van-d66-en-cda.pdf>” issued by D66 and CDA education appears to be merely serving economic gains. This does not bode well for the independence of the university and the academic freedom of researchers, nor for the workload.

Over the past year, with our first national strike<https://woinactie.blogspot.com/2024/11/20000-mensen-tegen-de-bezuinigingen.html>, supported by numerous organisations and companies<https://woinactie.blogspot.com/p/steunbetuigingen-protest-tegen-de.html>, and relay strikes across the country<https://woinactie.blogspot.com/p/stakingen-wo-2025-strikes-he-2025.html>, we have already shown that the cuts are bad for the future of the Netherlands and that we will not accept them.

Now is the time to make our mark on the formation of the new government and to turn our efforts of the past year into real change. We can only succeed if we stay on top of things and continue to exert pressure. Investing in higher education means reversing the cuts and investing more.

So come to Dam Square in Amsterdam on 9 December at 12:00 noon!
