Dear colleagues
The editorial team of the COVID-19 from the Margins blog—the popular spin-off of BigDataSur—has been a bit silent lately!
Why? Because we are preparing a wonderful seasonal present for this community (and beyond): a multilingual and open-access book that gathers the best contributions of the blog, including some that you have not even read yet.
The book will be published in December (in time for your xmas shopping) in the edgy ’Theory on Demand’ series published by the Amsterdam-based Institute of Network Cultures. Keep an eye on this space for more info!
In the meantime, the blog however hasn’t gone dormant!
We want to draw your attention to the latest publications, which are incredibly powerful and diverse:
- "Disrupting “business as usual”: COVID-19 and platform labour” by Jelke Bosma, Eva Mos & Niels van Doorn [1]
- "When Health Code becomes Health Gradient: Safety or Social Control?”, published in both Chinese and English [2]
- "Pandemic Paternalism: A Reflection on Indigenous Data from Aotearoa” by Donna Cormack & Tahu Kukutai [3]
- and a fresh new one published today that Karla herself we introduce.

A big thank you to the author, and stay tuned, as many more are awaiting publication!
Best, the editorial team Stefania Silvia Emiliano and Nicolas
