At Tor Dev Meeting in Valencia we come up with this idea:
https://github.com/globaleaks/Tor2web/issues/228
The concept informally is "Today Tor Hidden Services have a negative
balance of illegal/immoral stuff vs. good stuff" .
If we get some 10.000 websites on the internet that are "good stuff" and
"Onionify them", by later publishing the descriptors to Ahmia Tor HS
Directory index https://ahmia.fi we'll change that balance.
Jake come up with such a nice name for the idea "OnionFlare" because it
would be like Cloudflare but for Onion!
The right piece of software on top of which building such kind of
service is Tor2web, working in the "opposite direction" :-)
Obviously there are several challenges, including Tor going crazy with
tons of TorHS descriptors being managed.
I wanted to share this idea, as it could be a nice hack worth discussing
/ getting feedback!
