Discussion on that topic of having an inbound SMTP proxy here:
https://github.com/globaleaks/Tor2web-3.0/issues/81
The main characteristics, to limit the liability:
- Only inbound SMTP (no outbound, no spam)
- No queuing, only symmetric connections (never make the email to touch
the disk / no states)
- Only inbound encrypted SMTP/TLS
- Only inbound encrypted OpenPGP/MIME
That way it would be possible to "start" having an inbound proxy for
INTERNET-to-TORHS with a reasonably limited liability.
I think that shall not take too much to that based on Twisted, by
limiting those kind of feature set.
