*Speaker: Special*
This talk will cover the technical details of next generation hidden
services in tor. What they are, some examples of what they can do, where
you might use them, and how they're implemented. It will provide an
overview of the new technical structures employed, including shared
randomness to limit denial of service attacks and blinded keys to prevent
enumeration of services.
Bio: Since dropping out of middle school, special has traveled around the
world in the spirit of a hacker nomad. After three years of meditation at
the missionary church of kopimism in Finland he crafted Ricochet, a chat
application designed without a centralized store of metadata. He is now
working on a more secure design for onion services.

*Speaker: Tawfiq Ammari, "Social Media and the Arab Spring: Amplification
or Instigation?"*
This talk will address the effects of social media on the eruption and
(d)evolution of the Arab Spring. The salience of social media sites in
fomenting these revolutions has been held as THE major factor in their
formation and later development.
