Norman Shamas,* "Because Your Threat Model Isn't My Threat Model"

This conversation will focus on the human side of digital security and
techno-activism through the lens of threat modeling. Taking a
human-centered perspective to security, we will talk about determining
threat models and their implications for security and privacy planning.

Bio: Norman is an activist and technology consultant. They work with
organizations  and activists around the globe on human-centered security.

*Speaker: Christian Severt*, "WiFi Networks and Location Metadata

When using Pubic or Private WiFi networks, many operators use 3rd party
services to manage those networks. This presentation will cover the
location metadata that comes out of those networks and is stored without
users’ knowledge.

Bio: Christian is a Sr. Systems Engineer, IT Director, Secretary/Member,
Board of Directors for the Seattle Privacy Coalition and concerned Seattle
resident. He served in the US Navy administering classified Command,
Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I) systems. Christian
has also managed complex information systems for various companies in
sectors such as Technology, Healthcare and Legal industries.

Third Mondays (TA3M) is an informal meetup designed to connect software
creators, activists, and Seattle residents of all backgrounds who are
interested in censorship, surveillance, and open technology.  Currently,
TA3Ms are held in various cities throughout the world.
