Greetings! Tech Activism Third Mondays is meeting Monday, 8/15 at the University of Washington in the Computer Science dept. We have opted to return to UW CS this month because the space is well set-up for our activity. 

This month we will be doing a workshop on email privacy. You should find this workshop worthwhile if you are concerned about:
ads tracking you all over the web based on your emails 
email providers handing your emails over to the government without your knowledge

Workshop: Giri Sreenivas and Dirk Sigurdson "Email Privacy Workshop"
We will walk you through setting up your own email server on a $65 Raspberry Pi 3 kit that you can run at home. You will be using Amazon Web Services to provide a gateway to your Pi running in your home. Things you will need for this workshop:
Laptop
$65 for a Raspberry Pi kit (if you want to take it home and use it) or bring your own Pi 3
Credit card for buying a domain and creating an Amazon Web Service account
	    OR
a domain you own and an Amazon Web Services account with payment
