Hello Session Designers,

Our next Session Design Lab will occur on May 17th & 18th from 14:00 to 17:00 UTC. It’s always great when alums return for a refresher, so if you are interested in attending again - please let me know - I’d be happy to give you a full scholarship for the two days. It would also be fine if you just wanted to attend the first or second day. The second day might be helpful if you have a session plan to discuss with others. Just let me know, and I’ll send you the details.

In the meantime - do feel free to edit and share the following with anyone you know who may be interested:

I wanted to invite you to the May ’23 edition of The Session Design Lab, which will take place over two days, May 17 & 18th, from 14:00 to 17:00 UTC/15:00 to 18:00 BST. This is the 16th edition of the lab, with over 300 participants attending! The lab is run by Dirk Slater, the facilitation coach for the Mozilla Festival and RIghtsCon; he has over a quarter of a century of experience in training and facilitation. These labs are a labour of love for him.

The lab will help you improve your facilitation and training skills by exposing you to adult learning methodologies and a workshop format known as ADIDS. We also provide an opportunity to design your own session and have your design peer-reviewed by other participants.

By the end of the lab, you will have the following:
a peer-reviewed l session design ready for implementation
a greater understanding of how to run practical workshops and convenings
connections with others on a similar learning journey.
Access to the Session Design Canvas - a tool to help plan your future sessions.
You can learn more here: https://www.fabriders.net/session-design-lab/

Registration is 200 GBP, but anyone who can’t afford that may apply for a scholarship (see the link at the bottom of the page). If you want to attend, secure a ticket sooner rather than later, as we tend to sell out quickly!

Thank you so much for your attention and participation.

Dirk
