Hi Everyone,
Just to report back that the Check-In meeting yesterday was quite intimate, grateful to Mago and Monique for a deeper discussion.
My top level takeaways from the discussion -
- Your session needs to serve the journey your participants are on, ADIDS is a tactic you can use to ensure that, but it’s ultimately about the journey and not ADIDS.
- Getting participant buy-in is key. You want everyone to share ownership on the session achieving the stated goals. Sometimes you need to do some extra legwork before the session to get all the relevant perspectives and the opportunity to get that buy-in.
- Beware having to co-design with people who think they know better than the participants on how to meet participant’s needs.
I’ll let Mago and Monique add to any of that.
Also, just want to remind everyone that I’ve got another Virtual Session Design Lab scheduled for July 7th & 8th and you are invited to join, particularly on day 2 if you’d like to get an opportunity to talk through a session plan or participant engagement. Just let me know. I’ve already got some great participants lined up, so expecting this lab to be quite rich. If you know anyone who would value participating in the lab, please share: https://www.fabriders.net/session-design-lab/
