[CollectivePower] Facilitating Collective Power in the Age of AI

[Dirk Slater]

Hi Everyone,

I’m trying out a new version of the Facilitating Collective Power Lab, and I’d love to get you involved.

Facilitating Collective Power in the Age of AI is a two-session online prototype workshop for facilitators, organisers, activists, and others who bring people together to create change. We’ll explore a question that feels increasingly urgent: how can we use AI to strengthen collective power — while building the collective power needed to challenge the concentration of control behind today’s AI systems?

AI is changing the environment in which our communities and organisations work. It may create useful openings for strategy, learning, accessibility, and collaboration; it also brings new risks, dependencies, and power imbalances. This lab will be a space to work with that tension together.

Because this is a prototype, I’m especially looking for people willing to bring real questions, test ideas, share what they are learning, and help shape where this work goes next.

It will take place online - Tuesday, October 20th and Wednesday, October 21st from 3 pm to 6 pm UTC. You can learn more and register here: https://www.fabriders.net/facilitating-collective-power-in-the-age-of-ai/

Also, stay tuned for more on the Collective Power Playbook. I am in the midst of setting up a new forum and hope to engage you all soon about it.

Hope you can make it on the 20th!
