Hi Sophia,

I’d be delighted to have you - I’ll email you the details I need off list.

My current list of co-faciitators is:
Sophia Basile
Chris Beale
Jesse Mears

I can comfortably add one more co-facilitator. I am doing it as an online session, so it won’t mean anyone will need to travel to Taipei to do it, and if you are in Taipei, that won’t disqualify you either.

More soon,

- dirk

>> Chris, no worries and welcome! It was really great to get your offer to help with the session. I’ll ping you off the list to continue that thread.
>>
>> And for everyone else - I realised that it would have been helpful to include the session description I’ve drafted for the RightsCon Proposol:
>>
>> The Collective Power Playbook
>>
>> Divisiveness is rife in our society. Leaders gain power through divide-and-conquer fear-mongering tactics. Our tech-driven culture creates fewer and fewer opportunities for meaningful interaction. We need to take every opportunity to connect people and build solidarity. As facilitators, leaders and convenors, we have an essential role to play. This session is about creating the resources, skills and network to do that better.
>>
>> The Collective Power Playbook is a resource (in progress) for people who work on social change efforts. Its goal is to strengthen facilitation skills and empower collective action in diverse contexts. You’d benefit from the playbook if you are:
>> Empowering a group to work together during a workshop, meeting or any other convening
>> Developing strategies with activists and advocates to attain a more just and fair society
>> Working to cocreate transparent, accountable and fair processes in an organisation
>> Building a network of practice where participants learn from each other.
>> The Playbook provides exercises for you to use when you convene, while the ‘Collective Power’ network growing behind its development will help you strengthen your expertise.
>>
>> Come to this session to develop your facilitation skills, contribute to the playbook and join the network developing the ‘Collective Power Playbook’. http://collectivepower.net <http://collectivepower.net/>
>>
>> ————————————————————————————————————————
>> Any suggestions on how to improve the above are greatly appreciated. Please also let me know if you’d like to co-facilitate the session ASAP (again, the deadline is June 7th).

As I believe I had mentioned when we spoke, we had a surprisingly good session at the Summit for Democracy in Seoul to identify and talk through barriers to meaningful collaboration for those working in the broad "information integrity" space. I have been thinking about how to build on that and, especially, to identify a more "hands on" way to workshop the issue and to re-focus the conversation on the positive (rather than what doesn't work) and make it more inclusive (including for participants who don't feel comfortable jumping into a conversation on the fly, or speaking in large group settings). It would be great I could help facilitate contributions from that community towards the important work you're leading on the collective power playbook!
