Hay Kate, and all
It is great to see the list rekindled, thank you
I am not concerned that it has been quiet,
My topmost concerns now are: too many emails, in m inbox, I get sucked into
my email inbox everyday even before I manage to get my second cup of coffee
I have already sent out half a dozen urgents, and how to keep a life
balance (work, friends, personal interest, outdoor walks etc)

For me, the value of this list is to keep a connection with a wider
community of people who want to be connected
The role of the internet/web as an open ecosystem is being weakened by the
diversion of resources (funding) elsewhere
The lack of resources is pushing people who want to stay connected to rely
on personal resources (give up their free time and cover the costs with
their own money)
I am seeing this everywhere,
Communities are being disbanded, strategically and systematically
deconstructed by some invisible hand
I would like to see this list used by members to tell the stories they are
seeing in their local communities , workplaces, academic environments
where individuals are put under pressure, directly or indirectly, to quit
doing good things

It is important to have a channel for communication in these times when WW3
may be looming
so that we can try to figure out what the heck is going on everywhere
