Dear everyone,
My name is Carolina Vidal and I´m writing from Perú. I am currently
working at HIAS (hias.org). It is an NGO working with refugees throughout
the world. Due to the Venezuelan crisis, Peru has received around a
million people since 2017.
Due to the current world situation of Coronavirus emergency, many
Venezuelan refugees are struggling in quarantine because they work in the
Peruvian huge informal sector where they are paid daily or weekly. With
this money they pay rent, buy food, send money to their families in
Venezuela and pay their prepaid phone.
I wanted to ask you if you know any initiative that may help to maintain
our persons of interest connected with free Wi Fi in order to keep them in
contact with their families, informed and entertained.
Thank you very much!
Carolina

Hi All,
The spread of coronavirus is also raising concerns about the presence and
spread of misinformation about the virus across the Internet especially in
our region. If any partners or network members monitoring the situation
please get in touch.
Thanks,
Arzak Khan
