Code for America is one of the first and best efforts at leveraging the
skills of technologists on behalf of civic purposes.

The organization was created and is directed by the amazing Jennifer Pahlka
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jennifer_Pahlka>. Before starting Code for
American, she helped to create the United States Digital Service.

Code for America is growing and hiring. There are a range of roles across
the organization in tech, product, programs, and policy.  You need not be a
CS major for these positions.

Join an inspiring nonprofit that pioneers digital tools to make government
work for the people, by the people, in the digital age. Code for America
has helped more than a million Californians access food assistance and is
clearing the criminal records of 250,000+ people who are otherwise blocked
from housing and job opportunities.
