Dear all,
Refugee Transitions <http://www.reftrans.org/> is a non-profit organization
that serves refugees in the Bay Area who have come many countries around
the world, including Syria, Afghanistan, Burma, Eritrea, and Bhutan.
Their offices in San Francisco and Oakland need *IT support*. Here is what
they've described as their needs -- all PCs.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*San Francisco office: *
- checking 2 desktop computers (determine whether we should toss or fix)
- check all computers for free anti-virus program
- clean up all computers--remove history, cookies, etc. and old programs
(with staff)
- remove the hard drives from computers that don't work and train staff how
to remove hard drives and copy their information onto new/other computers
- fix 2 old laptops
*Oakland office:*
- get laptop connected to Internet
- get all computers on network for printing and type out instructions
- set up interactive white board and provide training for teachers/staff
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are interested in volunteering to help with this work, please
contact Julia Glosemeyer at julia at reftrans.org. Please mention my name so
she knows how you heard about their needs.
