Hi everyone,
I just did an interview with a US-based journalist who is doing some
research into social media surveillance by police. Specifically, he's
gotten some documents released to him that suggest individual
targeting, not the location based monitoring that's recently been
discussed in relation to Geofeedia.
He's looking to get some more perspective. He's looking to get in
touch with someone who is deep in the weeds of this topic, can speak
about technicalities, and can give a sense of how widespread certain
practices may or may not be. He's not interested in talking to a big
name that can speak only in generalities about the "implications" of
what he's found. If anyone thinks they can help him out, please do get
in touch and I'll give him your contact info.
All the best,
Brendan
