We are establishing a series of Action Groups for activists to engage in global collaborations on key issues related to inequalities, ranging from community-initiated economies to refugee and migrant issues.

However, we have outgrown skype, and we urgently need help in finding an internet voice conferencing platform that will work in regions of the world with poor internet connections.

Can any of you help us find a good application for our meetings? We need 3 to 5 people to help us test a series of possible voice conferencing systems that meet the following criteria (or as many as possible):

1. private (no one can listen in without being invited) and secure (cannot be spied on; the server host will not cooperate with requests)

2. low band-width demand; stable in the face of poor or fluctuating internet connections

3. people can dial in via mobile phone if their internet goes down; preferably using a local number

4. no download & installation required, or else very easy (many network members are not tech savvy)

5. easy to set up (no audio adjustments required), maintain and use

6. free, or on the cheap end

7. capacity for at least 50 participants - preferably more

8. moderated (moderator can mute and unmute the microphones)

9. works on most operating systems and browsers

10. if it requires a server side, this should be very easy to install and configure, and only require minimal maintenance and resources on our part (or be offered as a paid service at a very small cost)

We need to identify and test possible systems, and make our choice within the next 4 weeks, if at all possible. Several critically important projects are waiting for a secure meeting venue.

If you can only devote a few hours to this, that's fine. We just need people who know some of the options and can help us test them efficiently. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks!
