Lots of people miss lots of things. At the end of the day, the Mozilla Project has more work than there are people to do the work. People prioritize and actively select what they want to work on. I would guess that things like Firefox OS and Firefox the browser are considered more important things by the people capable of contributing.

Certainly, no one would interfere, and some might even help, if you revived the Prism efforts. It is an open source project after all.
