You write : « Current European policies [..] seem to ignore what people actually need» Well, maybe they do, but Google as a private company is not better placed, nor legitimate. Considering what people really want/need is not necessary what Google actually does through its R&D which they do for their clients, e.g. companies, people being the product as we all know. «We provided more information and opportunities for all users» they say, but if you want to know who takes the true benefit from this you should follow the money. And obviously money leaks from people's pocket, while this new economy has very significantly being detrimental to their privacy in the last decade. We European citizens can be glad EU take a serious look and restore precedence our lifes and rules over the free market.
