this looks like a great read.
as an alternative to focusing on the data, we could look at the emergent
social formations & what (if anything) can be done.
in this seminar i used giorgio agamben's "state of exception" as a way in
to the issues, and rather than a hopeful statement about ethics i picked up
ep thompson's idea of the 'moral economy' (sounds similar to ethics but
with roots in real social struggle; rural food riots of the late eighteenth
century!)
