I did not know YaCy, indeed to access it you must run a node, which is a 
kind of constraint, and connect to localhost, probably not very user 
friendly

I don't see any technical reason why the service could not be released 
as you suggest inside browsers (yacy.example.com), and why in a next 
step browsers could not contribute to store and share data.
