UNICEF Innovations is doing a really cool data science project, looking
at correlations between celltower traffic data and grave human rights
violations (rape, killing, maiming, child soldiers, abduction, attacks
on schools/ hospitals, denial of humanitarian access) and violent
incidents.
They need help from you lovely people - they've collected up some
datasets on violent incidents, but they need more. Does anyone have
datasets or pointers to datasets on violent incidents over the past
couple of years please.
And for bonus points... Sara (the person in charge of this project,
cc'd) about celltower data tomorrow, but if anyone knows of any existing
celltower data or potential sources for it, could you contact her please
too.
And if anyone wants more information about the project and its goals
(e.g. you want to know who Sara is before handing over data), Sara works
out of the UNICEF New York office, and can be contacted at
sjacobs2189 at gmail.com, or sjj2105 on Skype.
Thanks all!
Sara(s).
