Funny you should ask it that way -- 1983 to 2013 there was a group copied after PSR called Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility.
One of the many spin-offs from that has been Mark Rotenberg's Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC).
Read about it in Wikipedia.. . . or have Siri read it to you.
