[liberationtech] Mission Alignment - LibTech + NoizIvy.org/Kickit

Hello All,

I am a new member to this list, and very enthused to have found you. Thank
you Yosem for the referral.

I recently built an app that you can see here:

At this stage it is a basic Kickstarter clone with the caveat that it is
built on PayPal's adaptive payments api and it uses the 501c3 mission of
noizivy.org to allocate tax deductibility to any financial support for
published projects.

Noiz Ivy's tax exempt mission specifically being *"to increase
entrepreneurial learning through development of products, services and
programs in local communities engaging in technology-enabled peer-to-peer
exchange"*. As every entrepreneurial project is an iterative learning
experience, the outcome of our embedding this mission in this tool is that
it gives funders a "directed giving" opportunity to support projects they
value, and allows project creators to offer tax deductibility to supporters
of their work.

This app is live in beta (although has not been put to much of a test -
just 1 successfully funded project)... and in current state has been
formatted for prospective use in schools as a fundraising tool... although
this is not a limiting condition, just an initial plan based on my work in
schools to teach robotics, coding skills and entrepreneurship topics.

The plan moving forward is to get the data model right, integrate sovereign
identity and format this as a tool that lives on personal clouds... whereby
the 5% transaction fee for successfully funded projects can be shared among
hosts. As a not-for-profit, we have a larger objective than
profit-per-transaction, and this app is a way of deploying that mission.

I'll leave it at that for now. I look forward to learning more about/from
this community.
