Libtech,
Just in case there are people out there still interested in Turkmenistan :-)
One of the contributors to our report recently started up a Facebook page which has become quite popular amongst the Turkmenistan opposition. It can be found here: www.facebook.com/salamturkmen and www.salamturkmen.com. It is currently it is the top Turkmen news and entertainment facebook page among Turkmens, with over 1800 likes already and on average every post is getting 30 + and often 50+ comments. It was launched May 4 2012 and is in the Turkmen language. The website was launched in November.
According to Anna Soltan, the author of both sites, "We have several correspondents working for us from Turkmenistan and we several breaking news already. For example salamturkmen was able to announce word on the creation of the Turkmen second political party 2 days ahead and recently the concert of famous Turkish pop singer was announced 2 weeks ahead of its happening."
