[liberationtech] Silent Circle Going Open Source

It appears I may have jumped the gun a little bit...

In the above article:
- Silent Circle is targeting activists as a potential market
explicitly, and yet have not continued on their promise to publish
source code. What's published so far amounts to half a repository
(incomplete) on only one of their apps:

- Silent Circle is now making claims like:  "Users don't even have to
trust us. They don't have to be worried about Silent Circle being
coerced into doing wiretapping." That's suspect. Under CALEA, does
this mean Silent Circle (which uses a centralized model for code
delivery, server maintenance, account maintenance and user
communication) cannot be forced to wiretap potential targets?

I am still not impressed with Silent Circle. I was very pleased with
their releasing some incomplete chunks of source code but have seen
nothing but setbacks since then.
